How We Vet Our Pros
Wilmington Septic Experts is a referral service, not a septic company. We do not evaluate soil, write estimates or do septic work. When you send a request, we pass it to one independent septic contractor serving your address. Our name rides on every referral, so the bar that contractor has to clear matters more than anything else on this site. Here it is, plainly, including what it does not cover.
One Contractor, Not a List
Your request goes to one contractor only. It is never sold, shared with competing contractors or sent to a lead list, so you hear from one company instead of five. If we do not have a contractor who meets this bar for your address, we will tell you rather than pass your request to someone who does not.
What We Require
- Certified for the work in North Carolina. The contractor must hold current certification from the NC On-Site Wastewater Contractors and Inspectors Certification Board at the grade the job requires, as state law (G.S. 90A-72) demands.
- Insured. Current liability insurance for septic work.
- At least 3.5 stars in public reviews. We will not refer you to a contractor whose average public rating is below 3.5 stars.
- Works through the county. Permits are pulled and inspections passed for every job that requires them.
- Still meeting all of it. If certification or insurance lapses, or reviews fall below that line, we stop referring to that contractor.
How We Are Paid
We may be paid by the contractor for referrals. You never pay us anything, and there is no extra cost to you for the referral. Because the contractor may pay us, treat us as a starting point rather than an independent judge of any one estimate.
What We Do Not Do
We do not supervise jobs, inspect finished work or stand behind the workmanship. The contractor does the work and is responsible for it, for its warranty and for the permits it needs.
What You Should Still Check
- Ask for the contractor's state certification and check it with the certification board.
- Ask for a current certificate of insurance before work starts.
- Get the price, the scope and the warranty in writing.
- Confirm the county permit is issued before digging starts. Our septic permit guide explains each permit.
- Take your time. Anyone pressuring you to sign on the spot is not who you want digging up your yard.
